Purpose of Mission Study
In 2007 the Session of Fountain Inn Presbyterian Church (FIPC) prayerfully considered the variuous ideas and concerns that our congregation was communicating. After careful deliveration, dialogue and research, the Session decided to seek God's direction for our church through the process of a Mission Study.
Dr. John Wilkerson, Director of Church Leadership Coaching and Consulting, located in Waxhaw, NC, was selected to act as a consultatnt for our Mission Study, and he recommened that Session appoint a Mission Study Team (MST) to complete this Mission Study for FIPC. The MST completed this study with the benefit of Dr. Wilkerson's extensive experience in coaching and consulting for these types of mission studies.
Above all, the purpose of the Mission Study is to allow God to speak through our congregation and its leaders to provide guidance as we seek to glory Him in all we do.
Conclusions
The Mission Study Team recommends that the Session study the final report

and adopt the following Vision and Mission statements.

The Mission Study Team made the following priority recommendation regarding hymns used in worship:
Set up a temporary study group under the Worship Committee to clarify the worship service including music ministry. The group must have representation from various ages and viewpoints (contemporary vs. traditional). This study group should reflect on page 10 of the Church Planning Inventory, Appendix G, as well as input received from the congregation in Appendix I of the Mission Study Report.
This survey is in response to the congregation’s answers given to the following questions on Page 10: Use of new or unfamiliar hymns & Usage of contemporary worship styles, music and language.
The Mission Study Task Group on Worship would like your input via the following survey on hymns that you would like to have incorporated into our Sunday morning worship services.

The Mission Study Team made the following priority recommendation regarding spiritual growth:
Offer a study/program to encourage individual spiritual growth in becoming a stronger, committed disciple of Christ. This study/program should provide recommendations for how our members can pursue these areas of spiritual growth on a personal level, as well as through their participation in worship services, Bible studies, Sunday School, prayer groups, etc.
In addressing this issue, the Mission Study Task Group on Spiritual Growth would like your input via the following survey on areas of spiritual growth you feel are important. This survey will be in the Sunday bulletin as well. Please complete and return to the church office by June 29.
