We strive to fulfill the words we speak when we baptize a child: We seek to nurture children and raise them into the full knowledge and goodness of our faith. Children are offered training in Sunday School, Children’s Church, Worship, and Catechism Class.

Infants and Toddlers

During both Sunday School and Service, nursery is available to any children from infant to age four. It is located at the back of the sanctuary building straight down the hall when you turn out of the narthex from the sanctuary. The nursery is available at any point during worship or for the entire worship hour.

Volunteers are present to receive children beginning at 9:30 AM. Children from birth through age 4 will receive a lesson during the Sunday School hour as well.

K5 to 4th Grade

Classes for older children are located in the Education building upstairs above the Fellowship Hall. Classes begin at 9:30 AM.

Catechism Class is taught to third and fourth graders (depending on the size of the class each year). This class provides a foundational understanding of what we believe. Many of the things learned here will be built upon later in Confirmation class, Sunday School lessons, and youth devotionals.

Participation in Services

Children are included in worship most weeks during a Time for Children, and ages 4 through first grade may participate in Children’s Church during the sermon portion of the service. Children also have opportunities to participate in worship by ringing in the hour or by serving as acolytes. During Advent in worship they help bring the nativity pieces to the front of the sanctuary.

Family Fellowship

Several fellowship activities are offered throughout the year. Big celebrations occur at Easter and Christmas—with the live Nativity and parade float—and there are lunches several times a year for children and their families Sundays after worship. This time includes a group activity or devotional.
