Opportunities to Serve at FIPC
Disciple Our Children and Youth
When we baptize a child into the church, we commit to nurture them in their faith as they grow into adulthood. Opportunities to serve our children include volunteering in the church nursery, teaching Sunday School, helping with Vacation Bible School, teaching children’s church, serving on the Christian Education Committee, and helping guide and execute the calendar of children’s events.
You can help nurture the youth of the church by supporting their fundraising efforts such as attending and donating to the mission lunches, buying Christmas greens, and helping with the church yard sale. You can provide a meal for one of their Sunday night meetings, or do devotional lessons at the meetings. Male and female chaperones are needed for multiple trips and events each year. Contact Shannon Weinel for a full range of volunteer opportunities with the youth.
Serve Other Church Members
Older adults in our community may be in need of a ride to church and home on Sundays, which you could provide. Ushers are needed to collect the offering in worship. Volunteers help with office mailings and communications in various capacities. We always welcome strong leaders and workers on the various committees of the church, too.
Tell the pastor what you are interested in helping with, and he will get you in touch with the right person to get you started.
